2010 BLI and LBLI Finals

The club is very proud this year to be able to a strong representation in the Bowling League of Ireland and the Ladies Bowling League of Ireland Championships. In the BLI Championships Rosslare stands third nationally in having two teams in two finals, behind such well known Clubs as St. James Gate and CYM Terenure. For a club with such a small membership this is a great achievement.

BLI Singles - Nassau Cup

Aug. 31

Maurice McCarthy won a close run match against a strong opponent from CY Terenure. Going in very much as the underdog Maurice got off to a slow start but he soon got into his stride and for most of the match is was neck and neck. At one stage Maurice had a lead of 6 but this was pulled back and there was just three in it going into the last end. Maurice held his nerve and got the one he needed to cross the finishing line. Final score : 21 17

BLI Triples - BLI Cup

Aug. 30

Brendan Mahon, Aidan Mahon and Kevin Rowley won a close run semi-final against Kenilworth coming in to take 4 in the last end and win by 1. 16 - 15, to reach the final on Friday, Aug. 30.
In the final they were up against the experience CY Terenure. It was a close run match all the way but unfortunately they could only pick up one shot in the last end when they needed three. Overall it was a great match and while the lads did not bring home silver they did retain their pride.
LBLI Triples - Rose Ivie Trophy Kathleen Cuffe, Roz Mordaunt and Chris Naughton are playing in the Semi-finals to be held from the 10th to the 13th of Aug. in Crumlin Bowling club.
