The Algarve 2010

This year's trip abroad saw a return to Club Praia da Oura in the Algarve, Portugal. Orginally there were meant to be twenty two in the group but as it happen, due to illness, twenty members travelled. The highlight of the week was to be Ireland versus England on St. Patricks Day, our last full day there. The match did not generate that much excitement as it was poorly introduced and little effort was made by the rinks management to get the crowd nevermind the team going. Anyway the result was a bit disappointing for us as we lost 79 to 97 but were happy that we had played well against players who had a good knowledge of the rinks.

The trip was a great success with enjoyable bowling available each day on a newly refurbished rink. The weather was the best they had had there in many weeks so we were delighted with that.
